Actor-host Vhong Navarro became the subject of conversation on social networking sites after he was allegedly attacked and beaten up in a condominium unit at The Fort.
Navarro dominated social media conversations Friday night, making it the No. 1 trending topic using the hashtag #PrayForVhongNavarro.
According to his manager Chito Roño, Navarro was also threatened and was a victim of extortion. However, he said Navarro is unable to detail the incident as he cannot speak properly.
On the other side
Another side of the story surfaces after GMA-7’s “24 Oras Weekend” reported that Navarro was involved in an attempted rape incident, as seen in a complaint filed before the Taguig police on Wednesday, January 22.
According to the report, a police blotter that had Ferdinand Navarro’s (Vhong’s real name) signature showed the complaint filed by an unidentified 22-year-old student.
The complainant aired her side narrating that Navarro allegedly came to her condominium unit in Bonifacio Global City at around 10 p.m. Wednesday night.
It was written that the tension had started when Navarro allegedly touched her hand and pulled her hair, which led her to the conclusion that she is being harassed. With this, she claimed that she started to defend herself by stopping Navarro’s actions and immediately ran to shout for help. However, Navarro came after her and insisted that she was pushed to her bed as the TV host attempted to pull down her shorts.
With the unnecessary noise coming from the unit, two men allegedly came in and made a “citizen arrest” to rescue their friend from Navarro’s advances. Navarro was then brought to the police station where the complainant filed a blotter. However, the woman said she would no longer pursue a case against Navarro as stated at the end of the affidavit.
Blotter’s authenticity
The accusation against Navarro was turned down by his own manager after Roño sent a text message to Yahoo Philippines OMG! Saturday, regarding the blotter’s authenticity.
“That is the missing blotter that suddenly resurfaced,” he said.
Roño insisted that there is no such thing found in any precinct yesterday that has something to do with his talent.
“It was not found in any precinct in Taguig yesterday,” he added.
Even the police chief, according to Roño, shrugged off the said file complaint against the actor-host.
“The police chief was reported to have denied it existed. We are as keen as you are how GMA got it,” he said.
Roño on Friday added that his ward is in bad condition.
“Si Vhong ay kasalukuyang nagpapagaling at mawawala ng pansamantala sa ‘It’s Showtime’ at iba pa niyang proyekto.”
Navarro was absent from the noontime program “It’s Showtime” on Thursday and Friday.
The 37-year-old actor is known to have a non-showbiz girlfriend, and has two sons from his previous relationships.
He is set to undergo a surgery on Monday.
