“It’s Showtime” blows hot and cold moods for its drama special starting Monday in honoring the upcoming Holy Week 2013.

It has been a routine to the viewers of the show that when the clock strikes at 12:30 p.m., the fun and comedy begins at “It’s Showtime”.

In this year’s Holy Week Special, the show will air inspirational dramas starring some of its hosts from March 25 to 27, 2013

Host Anne Curtis said that the “Holy Week Special” will cater the real-life stories of different people one of which is the show’s “Bida Kapamilya” contestants.

“Ibang-iba talaga siya. Walang bahid ng kabaliwan. Ito talagang pino-portray namin ang buhay ng isang pamilyang nag-perform sa ‘It’s Showtime.’ Kami naman ang magpe-perform sa buhay nila,” Curtis explained.

On the video clip above, Curtis is seen portraying the daughter of a character played by award-winning actor Ronnie Lazaro. “It’s Showtime” co-host Coleen Garcia is also part of the special episode.

“Kakaiba, hindi ako sanay,” Garcia said. “Kasi usually ang acting namin, ‘Sine Mo ‘To,’ so puro comedy, light-light lang.”

Hosts Vhong Navarro, Kim Atienza, Jhong Hilario, Teddy Corpuz, Billy Crawford, will also be part of the Holy Week Special. Billy Crawford mentioned that it is a challenge for him to show his dramatic side because he is not into showing his inner emotions even to his own family.

We will catch a glimpse of the hosts’ other side from being comedy to conquering dramatic scenes. The Holy Week Special will be aired on March 25-27, 2013 (Holy Monday-Holy Wednesday).

Senatorial candidate Nancy Binay said she respects the opinion of Vice Ganda, who criticized her for running for the Senate even without extensive experience.

For those who are not familiar with Nancy’s background, she is the eldest daughter of Vice-President Jejomar Binay and former Makati City Mayor Elenita Binay. And at present, she is running under the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) which is said to be the decision of the party and not her own. This led to a lot of questions involving her and puts her on a hot seat.

In her text message to ABS-CBN News, she believes the actor and TV host does not appreciate her former job as personal assistant of her parents.

“Iginagalang ko ang opinyon niya about me. Siguro di niya na-appreciate iyong serbisyong ginampanan ko bilang assistant to my mother, then-mayor of Makati, and to my father as mayor and VP and chairman of [Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council],” she said.

The UNA senatorial candidate says that the statement of the comedian were expected saying that the “It’s Showtime” host supported the rival of his brother, Makati Mayor Junjun Binay, during the 2010 elections.

“Expected ko na yun kasi during the 2010 election nandun siya sa kalaban ng brother ko for mayor of Makati,” said Binay, who has also come under fire for being absent in all pre-election debates and forums.

As mentioned above, Binay said the idea of her running for senator was the party’s decision and it has been repeatedly criticized for allegedly using only the popularity of her father.

Vice Ganda mentioned her name when asked if he has any plans to pursue a career in public service during a press conference.

“Gusto ko President ako agad,” Vice Ganda said in jest, “‘Yung wala kang background, pero mataas agad, parang ‘yung mga pulitiko lang ngayon. Walang background, pero senador agad.”

The comedian was asked if he is referring to any senatorial candidate in particular, then he said, triggering laughter, “Sige na, si Binay, sino pa ba?”

“Wala akong sinabing masama ah, sinabi ko lang siya as an example, kasi totoo naman, ‘di ba? Wala siyang political background, pero senador agad. It’s a fact, ‘di ba?” he added.

Vice President Jejomar Binay reacts against Vice Ganda’s quips to his daughter Nancy.

Just like any other father who would run to his child’s defense, VP Binay bumped off unfriendly individuals’ comments against his daughter Nancy Binay, whom he said is already sure to win a senatorial post.

“Yung mga bashers na ‘yun, talagang natural na ‘yun, ‘yung mga inggitero, inggitera,” Binay said.

He was asked if he is pertaining to showbiz personality Vice Ganda, he said: “Basta’t yung mga gustong magdagdag ng boto at bumagsak ng boto si Nancy, ano pa ang dahilan.”

It was reported earlier that the comedian criticized her for running for the Senate even without extensive experience saying he would want to run for President immediately if he is to pursue a government position. “‘Yung wala kang background, pero mataas agad, parang ‘yung mga pulitiko lang ngayon. Walang background, pero senador agad,” he said.

Risa Hontiveros, one of Nancy’s rivals, is the candidate bet of the “It’s Showtime” host.

But the Vice President said Vice Ganda’s comment was just a reaction “dun sa sinasabi ng mga taong katulad niya na wala siyang [Nancy] experience. Kaya nga sinasagot na ‘yun bang 20 taon na kasama ko ang tatay ko at nanay ko eh hindi pa ba sapat na kakayahan ‘yun?”

Mr. Binay insisted that such comments will not bring down Nancy, who has shown momentum in pre-election surveys.

“Eh ano ba ang masasabing panalo? Ang panalo ba ang ibig sabihin 9-0? So tignan na lang natin resulta. ‘Yung resulta ang magsasabi kung tama ‘yung aming pagdulog at paghingi ng suporta sa ating mga kandidato,” he said.

ABS-CBN’s noontime show “It’s Showtime” earned an average national TV rating of 15.2% as compared to GMA’s “Eat Bulaga” having only 12.9% based on Kantar Media.

The daily ratings of the show increased due to its hit segment “Kalokalike,” featuring the semi-finalists for two weeks before the much-awaited Grand Finals happened on Saturday,  June 1.

“Kalokalike” grand finals earned a national TV rating of 26.8%, while “Eat Bulaga” only had 13.2%.

Meanwhile, the search for the next “Kalokalike” continues as “It’s Showtime” started its “Kalokalike Face 2” last June 3.

On his regular afternoon stint “It’s Showtime,” his co-hosts expressed their love for Vice.

“‘Sis pagaling ka’ tulad ng sinabi mo kanina ay kakantahan kita para gumaling ka,” said Anne Curtis, who is recently back on the show after fulfilling her commitments abroad.

Curtis even performed the song “I’m Missing You” for the comedian.

“Nananawagan lang po ako, ‘yung ibon ko po, nawawala po,” he pleaded.

“Blue and gold macaw, nakalipad po ‘yan kaninang umaga sa bahay ko, kaninang umaga sa Malate. Kung ‘yung taga-Maynila po nakita niyo ang ganitong uri ng parrot, itong parrot na ito ay nakapagbibigay ng kasiyahan sa napakaraming mga bata, kasama na po ang mga anak ko.

Lastly, Kuya Kim said he’ll offer a reward to anyone who can help him find Polar.

Online followers of Nikki Gil were startled after the singer-actress deleted all photos of her ex-boyfriend of almost five years, Billy Crawford, from her page on Instagram.

As of the moment, Nikki’s Instagram account has over 387,000 followers but no longer has any photos with Billy in it.

With this, her followers have expressed sadness over the photos of the former couple being deleted.

User swaggurl4344 commented: “You deleted all your photos with Billy Crawford. Oh no what happened? im deeply saddened :’(”

However, another user _andreyaahhh supported the “ASAP” mainstay’s move saying, “this is her ig account. she can do whatever. delete pics and all… just let her move on… you all are not helping with those comments.”

The last photo of Nikkii and Billy on her Instagram page, which has also been deleted, showed the former couple getting cozy after an “absolutely perfect” day sometime in June.
